What is LoanCalc

LoanCalc is a free suite of financial calculators built to help anyone run the numbers on a loan, a savings goal, or a refinancing decision. No account is required and no personal information is collected to use any tool on the site.

The site covers four areas: loan and mortgage calculations, compound interest and savings projections, refinance analysis, and live financial market data including currency exchange rates, gold and silver prices, crude oil prices, and major stock quotes.

The tools

Loan calculator — Monthly payment, total interest paid, and a full year-by-year amortization schedule for any mortgage, car loan, personal loan, or student loan. Works for any currency and any country.
Savings calculator — Compound interest projections showing how an initial deposit and regular monthly contributions grow year by year at a given annual return rate.
Refinance calculator — Monthly savings, break-even month, and total lifetime savings from switching to a lower interest rate, after accounting for closing costs.
Live rates — Real-time currency exchange rates for 30 major currencies, live gold and silver spot prices, WTI crude oil prices, and prices for ten major US stocks and funds.

Data sources

Exchange rates are sourced from the Frankfurter open exchange rates API, updated daily. Gold and silver spot prices are fetched from public financial data APIs including metals.live and the @fawazahmed0 currency API. Oil prices and stock quotes are sourced from Stooq and Yahoo Finance. Central bank lending rates are sourced from the World Bank public data API.

All market data is fetched server-side and cached. Calculator inputs — loan amounts, interest rates, savings figures — exist only in your browser and are never sent to any server.

Free, no account required

All LoanCalc tools are permanently free. There is no email collection, no account creation, no premium tier, and no data shared with third parties beyond what is described in the Privacy Policy. The site is supported by display advertising through Google AdSense.
